The big article on my facebook newsfeed today was from CNET News, “Did Apple just create the best Google ad campaign ever?” At first I thought, “Well, no big deal. Having a map that pictures roads as roller coasters is pretty funny, and it really doesn’t hinder map users too much.” But as I read on, I found out that Apple’s iOS maps is getting addresses wrong too. That could be a real issue if you’re meeting a client at a new restaurant for the first time.
Ok, I’ll admit. I don’t actually own an iPhone, or any smartphone for that matter. As a college student paying 90 percent of my income to tuition and gas, a smartphone just isn’t a smart investment #firstworldproblems. But I do want one. So as graduation and hopes for a well paying job draw nearer, I keep shopping around for my dream phone.
- bad maps
- new adapter, which seems like a revenue driver
- Scuffs easier on aluminum case
- Many more According to this Huffington Post article.
So with so many issues in the new iPhones, what new and amazing features is the Apple bringing to the table.
- thin, lightweight
- improved camera
Scott Stein of CNET writes,
“The question is: a full year later, is that enough? For me, it is. I don’t want much more in my smartphone. Sure, I’d love a new magical technology to sink my teeth into, but not at the expense of being useful. Right now, I’m not sure what that technology would even be.”
For me, so few, minor detail updates aren’t worth the high costs of a new smartphone.
Also, I’m just throwing this in here because I’m completely obsessed with Gangnam Style. Here are a few Gangnam Style Parodies.
